This is the Unhinged Artist website where you’ll find a selection of my recent abstract paintings and other artwork, most of which is available for sale. Click the gallery links below to browse your choice of abstract paintings, various pieces of abstract sculpture  and furniture art incorporating abstract paintings which will stand out no matter where you want to put them! If you like abstract paintings, you’ll find a selection available in my gallery pages. The majority are acrylic paintings, which is my favourite medium. The majority of my paintings are on stretched ‘box canvas’ but there are also some, often larger or textured paintings, which I’ve created on canvas that has been mounted on wood for extra strength and stability. The majority of my work is unframed, firstly because I think the buyer should be able to choose how their painting is framed (if at all) and secondly, because I’m an artist and not an expert at framing!

Although paintings are definitely my favourite, I also enjoy dabbling with abstract sculpture and experimenting on various pieces of furniture. Most of the sculptures I make are created with clay (or similar) and then moulded, with the final item cast in resin, plaster or similar materials. I occasionally sell one-off originals but generally prefer to make resin copies, as they are much more affordable for buyers. Not all my sculptures are intended solely for viewing; some have hidden secondary uses, such as discreet storage for faraday bags to protect car remote controls, etc. These are sometimes sold as one-offs.

I guess you could describe the furniture items I work on as functional art. Thanks to a small business I run, I often come across pieces of used furniture which deserve a second life and I love using them as an alternative to canvas for abstract paintings. If nothing else, it’s furniture with a difference!
